When asked where I get my clothing, almost 99.9% of the time I ordered it online. Who wants to deal with pushy sales people, or sales associates that are unaware of product? Not me!
Now I know what you’re thinking…. how will I know if it will fit? Well I am here to share some of my tips for ordering the right size as wells share some of my favorite online websites that I am LOVING!
Always check the size charts and dimensions! It’s a good idea to keep a tape measure around your house and actually find out your size dimensions. Measure everything in inches your shoulders, bust, waist and hips. If your looking for something more professional check out a tailor or a bra specialist!
Check to see what size the model is wearing. For someone who is 5 foot 8 this is a great tip for me; but for those shorter girls this is.a great comparison as well. It will tell you if something will be super short, super long or just right on you!
Check the fabric!! The most common made mistake by online shoppers. The material and content is everything in clothing production size and fit. If you know something is 100% cotton odds are it will probably shrink. Look for polyester, silk, elastane, acrylic, acetate, and nylon.
Use social media! It’s great to see the product on actual customers. Some websites like showpo.com actually link Instagram users pictures in the outfits. If not, check out the websites Instagram pages, tagged photos, or even hashtags. You’d be surprised how many people are wearing the same product.
Read the reviews! Sometimes in the review section of the product there will be examples and pictures of customers in the product wearing the size they purchased!
Use an app! A great app is Fitbay which actually shows the percentage of men and women wearing size small who have to buy a size up or down. The app uses many examples of data points from users so you can discover what size to pick from different retailers.
Find a silhouette that you know will work for you! You know what works for your body so stick to what you love best. It’s so much easier to type into a search engine “shift dresses” then to scramble all over Forever 21 looking for a shift dress.
